Yoga, Dharma & Rest:

a  ONE  DAY  RETREAT

for clarity, ease & purpose, with Margi Young & Sarah Clark

196FCC0B-6F7E-4B10-80A5-DD3CCA64C2B5.jpe

margi, sarah & daily ritual offerings in bali, where they led 300hr teacher training together in dec 2019.

DATE: June 13, 2021

During this day of practice from home, we will anchor attention in the body as a way to better know the nature of the mind.  We will explore the dharma of transformation: hardship into path, mess into an offering, the quality of our attention into the way of liberation.  And as with all retreat, the most foundational aim is to emerge from it more clearly aligned with our values.

Over the course of the day, we will meet as a group four times via zoom. The times listed below are PDT:

  • 7-8am morning meditation.

  • 10am-12pm - yoga asana (2 groups-  gentle OR intermediate).

  • 2-3:30pm -  meditation, dharma & discussion.

  • 4-5pm restorative yoga.

To maximize the benefit of a daylong retreat, we encourage you to create some clear forms throughout this day-- these can really protect your time & space, and can help you to rest and continue to reflect & restore between our group sessions. Some recommendations:

  • Prepare nutritious meals a day or two in advance.

  • If there are people in your pod, we suggest you let them know in advance that you will be "on retreat."  Communicating this with clarity gives them the chance to support you (yay!) and offers you an opportunity to feel into some detailed boundaries you may wish to ask for, such as minimal interruptions or your choosing silence for the day, etc.   Please reach out to us if you need more support here.

  • Seek out as much child and pet care as possible.

  • On Friday make a practice space that feels sweet. Clean out the dust bunnies, wash your yoga props, gather some flowers, a candle or anything else that will make your space feel special.

  • Keep plenty of water or (lots of) tea on hand :)

HOW DO I PAY?

This retreat is offered within the stream of the tradition of dana -- the teaching is given freely.  In exchange, we ask that you consider offering a donation.  A suggested range is  $50-$150 for the day's retreat.

Please do not let finances hold you back. If money feels tight, forgo the dana, attend anyway and consider some other way you might offer your goodness: make a meal for someone in need, clean up a neighborhood block, run an errand for an elder...  there are so many ways to give generously.

Thank you!  We appreciate your generosity.

**  please write "ONE DAY RETREAT" in the memo.  thanks!  **

stay tuned for next retreat in 2021.
